Sport is an important affair, in Franconia as elsewhere. The illustrator captured faces of the people in the crowd here: fanatical, disappointed or cheering. Friedrich Neubauer was always interested in highlighting the expression of the spectator, as e.g. the boastful gestures of the skier. After sport the sportsmen are making for the café “Mocca-Mühle”.
