Art collections of the city of Nuremberg The building of St. Sebald´s Church was begun in 1230 in late Romanic style. The huge east choir in Gothic style was finished in 1379. The spires were built up to their present height only at the end of the 15th century. So badly was the church damaged in World War II that it was in question whether it could be reconstructed."
