Art collections of the city of Nuremberg Friedrich Neubauer watched the construction of the Underground with interest and documented it by drawing. So parts of “Weißer Turm”, once part of the Old City wall, had to be taken down temporarily. That revealed the view to the churches of St. Jacob´s from the Gothic and St. _Elizabeth´s from the classicist periods. The illustrator shows the open building excavation. The tower top is just indicated."
