Landscape

inventory number: w0141
Drawings coloured

This expressive view was painted with crayon on paper, standing, so to speak passing by. Nevertheless the similarity with the oil painting “Swabian Flat Top Mountains” is noticeable. Friedrich Neubauer was a master of sketching. His city and landscape sketches are also called “short-hand”, literally meaning “jotted down”. This technique is also used for colored paintings. A colorful landscape is spreading here under a sky with grey clouds. Green hills, red-brown farmland streaked with groups of green bushes convey the impression of movement.
